Over the last several months I've gotten some regular reminders that I'm not in the best shape. It's been a long slow process that I've ignored for too long. I could talk about the reasons and unpack things a bit but it's a long trite story. I don't know if I can pin down the final straw here. Perhaps it occurs to me as I plan the Summer that I don't want to go swimming and be seen without my shirt on, which has never been an issue for me. Perhaps it was watching my dad have a decent health scare. Suffice to say that I'm changing things. I've tried to walk regularly at work rather than drive my desk all day. I'm also cutting out all liquid drinks except for ice water. No more coffee. Lisa signed us both up for the nearest gym and I've been a few times but I need to get there often. I want to hit a minimum of 30 minutes of activity per day, more when possible.
Blogging about this process and my progress is a bit cliched but I might as well. I'm actually walking and typing this on my iPhone at the same time. So there you go!
